Wolf of the Month-Edward Keller

Edward is a 14-year-old 8th Grader on the High Honor Roll and straight A student. Edward names Mrs. Cindy Soehner(Math) and Mrs. Sherri Ramseier(Language) as his favorite teachers. Some of Edwards’s hobbies and interests outside of school include playing football and basketball, along with being an avid member of 4-H Shooting Sports. Edward names his parents, Wade and Kim, as his role model and states, “My parents are huge role models for me, always encouraging me to grow and improve.” Edward shared that a “Fun-Fact” about himself is that “My belly dancing abilities once caught the attention of a group of gypsies.” (I’ll believe you on that one Edward, no need to prove it……)
When asked to discuss an accomplishment that he is proud of, Edward responded, “I took first at the Colorado Shooting Sports Outdoor Championships. It took a lot of hard-work to achieve this.” When asked to discuss a future goal, Edward stated, “I hope to be the 4-H Shooting Sports ambassador for Yuma County.” A piece of advice Edward offers to his classmates is, “When you run – run hard. When you start – don’t stop.”
Mr. Johnson states, “Just an 8th Grader, Edward has already established himself as one of Idalia’s most gifted and accomplished students. Along with being a straight A student, Edward has been the Junior High Knowledge bowl high scorer for the past two seasons, won the Junior High Spelling Bee two consecutive years, was named the Outstanding Student in multiple classes last year, and continues to set a very high academic bar. His incredible intelligence is complimented by his strong work-ethic and genuine love of learning. Beyond the classroom, Edward thrives in his 4-H involvement, specifically shooting sports, where he has won state level competitions. Additionally, Edward participates in sports, where especially on the football field, he grew into his own this year and showed some potential. Beyond all of this, Edward is a humble, polite kid who goes through life in his own unique way and is a great friend to many. Idalia is fortunate to call Edward a Wolf! There is no doubt he will continue to thrive both in and out of the classroom moving forward. Congratulations on being selected as Wolf of the Month Edward, an honor well-deserved!”
